Aram 2 carpet from Kvadrat is a reinterpretation of the flat carpet Aram, exploring the dynamics between volume, texture, and colour. Made from 100% New Zealand wool, it offers a fresh take on the artisanal Sumak weaving technique. With an exceptionally comfortable feel and subtle movement in colour blending, Aram 2 is created by looping bundles of twisted yarn around the warp, giving a multidimensional effect reminiscent of enlarged braided ribs. Each thread is hand-dyed in various shades, creating a range of refined tones and subtle colour rhythms that play across its surface. A finely woven wool edge completes the base and perfects the design. Following a finishing process, including singeing and washing, the carpet’s tactility is enhanced, and the surface achieves a crisp feel.
